OEM and packaging coordination
Branding is the part of an order where costs hide. We coordinate the artwork, the proof and the production run with our partner factory, and we itemise what each choice costs before you commit — because a logo is rarely the expensive half.
The four customization options
The same four options the quote form asks about, so nothing is lost in translation.
- LogoYour mark on the product or the packaging, by print, and by mould injection in the two halves for the first run. Injection tooling is a real cost and a real lead time; printed is cheaper and flexible.
- ColourStock colours carry no setup. A colour not in the stock range needs either paint on the production line or a new mould, and both change MOQ and lead time.
- PackagingThe single biggest driver of both MOQ and cost. Blister card, inner box, outer carton, and what is printed on each, are separate decisions.
- OtherBarcode or GS1 labelling, manuals, inserts, certificates, and drop-test packaging for transit. Tell us what your market requires rather than assuming ours.
How a custom run gets approved
- Step 1:You send artwork or a briefVector artwork if you have it. If not, tell us and we will say what is workable.
- Step 2:We check feasibilityCan this print this way, on this material, at this size? We say so before money moves, not after.
- Step 3:Proof approvalA proof or digital mock-up goes to you. Nothing goes to production on an assumed approval.
- Step 4:Pre-production sampleA physical sample where it is warranted, so you are approving an object rather than a rendering.
- Step 5:Production with the agreed specThe written specification and the approved artwork are what the run is measured against.
- Step 6:Artwork files archived against your orderSo a repeat order produces the same thing, and so a dispute about what was approved can be settled from a record.
What actually drives the cost
Ask any supplier for a custom quote and you will usually get one unit price. These are the things behind that number.
- Tooling or mould costPaid once, per part. Amortised across the run, which is why it hurts small orders and stops hurting large ones.
- Minimum print runPrint setups have their own minimum, separate from the product MOQ. A brand on 20,000 units may still need 50,000 printed.
- Packaging complexityEvery additional layer — inner box, insert, printed carton — adds material, labour and a chance to be wrong.
- Setup per colour or per runColour changes and re-runs carry setup that does not scale down, so a mid-run colour change costs more than a larger single run.
- Proof and sampling cyclesLegitimate cost, and the most commonly compressed step. Compressing it is what produces a shipment nobody approved.
What to expect on lead time
Lead time is confirmed once specifications and quantity are finalized — not before. For a custom run it is a sum of stages: artwork, tooling or print setup, proof approval, production, and inspection. We do not publish a fixed number of days, because the two stages that most often slip are the two you control: how quickly you approve artwork, and whether the first round of proof was right.
If you have a launch date, tell us at the enquiry stage. It changes what we recommend, and it is better to know early.
Questions about custom orders
Age and destination
Custom branding does not change the age restriction. These products are for adults of legal age in the destination market, and we cannot supply into a market where they are restricted. Packaging that a target market prohibits — including certain capacity limits or warning layouts — will change what is possible, so tell us the destination before you finalise artwork.

Tell us what you need to source
Send your product, quantity, destination market and any customisation requirements. We review the details and reply within one business day.
- Silavis supplies products to business customers. We do not sell to consumers and this site is not a retail store.
- Products are selected from manufacturing partners. We are a trading and sourcing company, not a manufacturer.
- Compliance documents are confirmed per model and per destination market. Buyers are responsible for verifying local import, registration, labelling and sales requirements.
